Burg Waldmannshausen

Welcome to our castle "Waldmannshausen"!

Since our website is not available in English, we would like to give you a quick summary here:

The castle is a hostle geared towards servicing school classes. It can be found in central Germany, approximately one hour north-west of Frankfurt. Surrounded by grasslands and forests it can be found on the outskirts of the small town of Elbtal, as part of an area referred to as the "Westerwald". The towns Limburg an der Lahn, Koblenz, Frankfurt Main and the river Rhein can be reached in short time.

The castle premises of approximatley 60,000 m² hold a forest, grasslands, plenty of opportunities to play and work out and two buildings. One is over 500 and the other is over 250 years old. Both buildings have room to sleep 66 students and 10 teachers. Moreover, there are group meeting rooms, a refectory, a ping-pong-table and a party room available as well.

Besides school classes, other groups are also welcome to rent our buildings, even though visitors that come by themselves cannot be accommodated. For further information regarding reservations, please look under "Buchungen" (reservation"). Should you be interested in making a reservation or have further questions, please don't hesitate to contact us in English. We have hosted groups from outside of Germany before, like the German school in Medellin, Columbia, who used our hostel as a starting point for their visit of Germany and used their days off to relax in the hostel and its surroundings.

The hostel is managed by a not-for-profit organization who employs an administrator working at the castle. The NFP was founded in 1926 by parents from the city of “Hagen” and in 1935 the hostel “Castle of Waldmannshausen” (“Burg Waldmannshausen”) was inaugurated. It has since been visited by many, many students and other groups.
